Aquatic ape hypothesis

Description

The aquatic ape hypothesis, also referred to as aquatic ape theory and more recently the waterside model, is the idea that certain ancestors of modern humans were more aquatic than other great apes and even many modern humans, and, as such, were habitual waders, swimmers and divers. Wikipedia

The ancient aquatic theory - they didn't mention THIS in school. We take a look at this ancient theory which could suggest that humans ventured into the oceans.
Where humans came from and our evolution is a subject that's fascinating. One thing people have questioned is why some humans have webbed hands. This has lead to some interesting theories. Some studies have shown that wedded hands and wrinkled fingers help to grip things underwater. This could mean that at one point in time hominids were very comfortable around water. There are those that believe in the aquatic ape theory. This is the idea that humans did venture into the oceans millions of years ago. Some theorists have put forward the idea that it's one of the reasons why we are so different from other species of apes.
